What we collect

Template copies and downloads

When you click Copy to Google Docs or Download Word, we record which file, the page you clicked from, and a visitor code. The visitor code is a one-way hash of your IP address and browser name, mixed with a random value that changes every day and is deleted the next day. We never store your IP address. We use this to count how many people take each template, counting repeat clicks within 30 minutes once. Individual records are deleted after 90 days; after that we keep only daily totals.

The job-tailoring button

When the “Tailor this to a job” button scrolls into view, and if you click it, we record that it happened, on which page, with the same daily visitor code. We use it to decide whether to build the feature. These records are deleted after 90 days.

Page analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other sites.

Your email, only if you give it to us

If you ask to hear about job-tailored resumes, we store your email, which template page you were on, and when you confirmed. We send a confirmation email first and nothing else unless you confirm. If you don't confirm, we delete the address within 7 days. Emails include a link that deletes your address immediately.

Broken link reports

When you report a broken link, we receive the file name, the page and your browser name. Nothing else.

On your device

If you choose US Letter or A4, your browser remembers it so other pages use the same size. That setting stays on your device; we don't receive it.

What we don't do

• No accounts, no advertising cookies, no selling or sharing data.
• We never see the resume you write in Google Docs or Word. It lives in your own Drive or computer.

Who processes data for us

• Vercel hosts the website and provides page analytics.
• Our database runs on a server we rent in the United States.
• Resend sends our emails.
• Google hosts the template documents. When you copy one, Google's own privacy policy applies.

Your choices

To remove your email, use the link in any email from us, or write to hello@readableresume.com and we'll delete it within 7 days. Visitor codes can't be traced back to you, so there's nothing personal to look up.
