Terms and license
Plain-language rules for using our templates. Last updated October 2026.
The short version
- Use any template, free, to write your own resume, cover letter and references page.
- What you write is yours. Send it anywhere, post it anywhere, no credit to us needed.
- Share links to our site with anyone, including students and clients.
- Don't repost or sell the template files themselves, edited or not, on your own site, drive, course or store.
- Writing resumes for paying clients with our templates needs a coach license.

A career center that wants a co-branded set can write to us at hello@readableresume.com; we agree those in writing.
Coach license
The coach license will cost $35, one-time, for one coach or one studio. It covers delivering resumes, cover letters and references pages built on our templates to paying clients, for any number of clients. It includes a bundle of every .docx and any template updates for 12 months; after that, files you already have keep working. Until the license is on sale, write to us and we'll arrange it.
Our checks are not a guarantee
We publish what an open-source parser reads from our sample content. That's information, not a promise about any hiring system or any outcome. Templates are provided as they are, without warranty, and we aren't liable for how they're used or for hiring decisions.
Changes
We may update templates or these terms. Copies you already made in your Drive or downloaded don't change. We don't promise a schedule for new templates.
